Dear Diary,

I'm only 12.  Only stupid teenagers and grown-ups are supposed to get Reggard's Roulet.  I'm only 12!!! I'm waaaay too young!  I only kissed Isiah  and he is 14, but he is too young to get Reggard's too.  I can't have it.  There's something else wrong.

---

Dear Diary,

I have Reggard's Roulette.

---

Dear Diary,

Four other kids got Roulette.  Just from kissing!!  Aamina got it before I did.
Oh God.  Her symptoms are going to start showing up in 5 days.

---

Dear Diary,

Aamina killed herself.  She had 1 day left before symptoms started.  I have 7 days.

---

Dear Diary,

My first symptom is that I am now yellow.  Mom said it was gold, but I'm yellow like old pee in a toilet.
I forgot to write down that Isiah got his symptoms 2 days ago.  I heard his mouth melted and his mouth in now at the back of his head and all his hair turned into teeth.  My Mom says sometimes you get lucky and good things happen.  That's why it's called Roulette.  They call people who get Reggard's Roulette "players", like it's a game.
I'm really scared.

---

Dear Diary,

I ran away.  I'm hiding at the old campground.  There's a cabin with a door that doesn't close.  I hope there isn't anyone else out here.
I don't want to die but I brought a knife with me.  I don't want to live like Isiah.  What if my mouth starts to melt or my eyes explode and keep burning forever?

---

Dear Diary,

I tried to cut myself and it really really hurt!  It is not easy to cut your wrists.  My blood isn't red!!  My blood is see-through gold-colored!!  I didn't touch the blood, I don't know what to do!
I'm not yellow anymore, I'm really gold like Mom said.  I keep walking away and coming back to finish writing because I'm really really hyper.  1 more day left then no more new symptoms ever.

---

Dear Diary,

No more days left.
Butterflies kept landing on the cut on my wrist.  They kept landing on me all over the place, but they really liked my wrist.
I finally brushed them off and I sucked on the cut.  It tasted sweet, really sweet like sugar.
I think my blood has turned into flower nectar.

I think I won the Roulette.
I was determined to not write another depressing ending.
There are far worse things to be than a gold-colored person with liquid sugar for blood and an inordinate amount of energy due to that.

Is the "Dear Diary" repetition too much?  Is it inconsistent? C&C appreciated.

I don't think the Dear Diary is too much. I think it was just right. I love the idea of Roulette. Blood like flower nectar is a cool idea. I wonder if it will go further than that. If the blood is like flower nectar, is the narrator becoming more plant like?
